Cary Rosa is a performer and composer originally from Cuba,
where she completed her cello studies and at just 16 years old
joined the chamber orchestra “Camerata Romeu.” They were
nominated for a Grammy and released four albums, two of them
with maestro Egberto Gismonti.
In 2009, she was called by Amparo Sánchez, former leader of the band
Amparanoia, to record the album “Tucson-Habana” with the North American band
Calexico, surprising her interpretive ability on the cello, double bass, electric bass, and her
voice. In June 2023, she released her first Latin jazz and flamenco album, “El Desliz.”
The concerts are full of experimentation and constant musical exploration, exploiting the virtuosity of each musician, their talent, and the lively feeling of the music to take us to a place where jazz and song do not exist. They have borders.
