La Palma
La Palma, formerly known by the Spanish name of San Miguel de La Palma, is an island in Spain located in the Atlantic Ocean and part of the Canary Islands. Its most populated city is Los Llanos de Aridane but the seat of the island cabildo is Santa Cruz de La Palma.
Since 2002, the whole island has been recognized as a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco2. In the center of the island is the Caldeira de Taburiente National Park, which is one of the four national parks located in the Canary Islands out of the fifteen in the country.
